Emily Miye Onoshi, LMT has been in private practice in the city of Cupertino since 2007. Her specialization includes working with clients that have a need for therapeutic massage such as those who have physical disabilities, athletes (sport massage), pregnant women (pre-natal/perinatal massage), and busy Silicon Valley techies (corporate massage). Many of her physically disabled clients have had Strokes, ALS, Cerebral Palsy, Bells Palsy, and other neurological damages. She is a big advocate on stretching and will often incorporate stretching into the massage therapy sessions. Being an athlete herself, she does have a tendency to attract other athletes as clients who want a massage therapist that understands the physical activity they may have in common.
More Mobility Massage was started in hopes of helping people achieve better mobility, though it can sometimes be interpreted by people that Emily's services are also available mobile at hospitals, rehabilitation centers and retirementhomes for better access to those who may have more difficulty reaching her office. Her interest in massage therapy sparked initially from the seihou sessions that occasionally happened in the martial art Shorinji Kempo thatshe has been practicing since age nine. Kyushou points in Shorinji Kempo are ironically used to inflict temporary pain. But like with trigger point therapy there are many points on the human body that can be used for therapeuticpurposes. And with pre-natal/perinatal massage, it is also important to be mindful of being aware of certain points on the body that could trigger early labor while also providing options for women who would prefer an alternativeto induced labor via drugs. Emily's competence and confidence in her areas of expertise has continued to help her clients feel at ease ---- and relaxed.

Regardless of insurance coverage, all clients are responsible for full payment of the treatment at the time the treatment occurs.
ALL appointment cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance (including appointments that were made on the day of) or else it will result in full payment for the treatment that the appointment was made for. Therefore, all appointments must be made with a valid credit card on file to reserve the appointment. There will be an automatic charge placed on the credit card for any no-shows or appointments that were cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the appointment time. All pre-paid treatments and treatments that are being redeemed via gift certificates are subjected to forfeiture of the payment or gift certificate for no-shows or cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the appointment.
On re-scheduling: Trying to “re-schedule” an appointment on a different date is still a cancellation of the original appointment. For appointments that are re-scheduled for the same date (but at a different time) less than 24 hours prior to the original appointment, it will still result in a 50% cancellation fee of the original appointment in addition to full payment for the new appointment time *
*This is dependent on the availability of the massage therapist that day. If there are no more available appointments that day or the client is not able to come in at a different time that day, the client is still responsible for the full payment of the originally scheduled appointment.
On substitutions: If you are not able to make an appointment you do have the option of sending someone else in as a substitute client. However, you are responsible for making arrangements with the substitute prior to the appointment, including payment. By default, you are responsible for the payment of the appointment regardless of whoever ends up taking it unless the substitute successfully makes an arrangement to pay for the treatment. If the substitute takes on the responsibility of the payment of the treatment, he/she must adhere to the same policies as other clients and will be asked to secure the appointment with a valid credit card. All new clients are required to fill out necessary paperwork.
Unless the massage therapist is notified, 15 minutes is the maximum time allotted for a client to show up until the appointment is considered a no-show. All clients who arrive later than the appointment time are still responsible for full payment of the appointment that was reserved.
Gift certificates are available for purchase.
